Summertime Bucket List- Zoo & More

The summer is in full swing! We've been having lots of fun adventures at home and out and about. Our garden is growing, our kids are growing, and we're enjoying the summer.
We found a nest of baby rabbits in one of our raised beds....they didn't stay long after we discovered them, but we had fun peeking in on them.

First sunflower of the summer along with orange poppies from the garden

This is the view from our yard looking out the front of our property across the road during wheat harvest....pretty cool to watch them.

My little zoo rider...he did great riding around and taking it all in!

Ok, this was just funny....first of all the lion is usually not out when it's hot, but we were early enough to see him, second, he was out and playing, then look to right and notice the keg....think he might've had a crazy night!? (:

Summer 2012 Bucket List--Woolaroc Adventure

We headed out to take a trip to Woolaroc with some friends yesterday. I have some great memories of that place as a kid. My grandparents would take us there all the time and we would roam and explore the acres and acres of stuff there!  We took our picnic lunch and away we went. Of course with four kids under five, we opted to not go through the large museum part, but they loved the petting zoo and running around the playground and park areas and seeing all the animals. We were all exhausted, but we all had fun! It will be fun to go back as my boys get older and appreciate different aspects of the place, especially when they will want to walk the amazing trails! I'm sure we have many  more memories to be made there.

Go, Cooper, Go!

Cooper had a fun 4th birthday last Saturday at the Three Forks Nature Center. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the animals and we even got to pet a snake, beaver, and skunk! Cooper just had to have a "Go, Diego, Go!" theme, so the nature center was perfect for "Cooper Diego", as he calls himself.

Aunt Re-re helped the kids find their goodies on a scavenger hunt

Cooper found a clue...for what, I'm not sure, but he's really into clues

I made and decorated this cake. Coop was so excited about it and I made a jello poke cake with blue jello at his request...it was not bad, either!

After party was taking toys out and playing all evening

Cuteness

,
Okay, so I haven't posted in a week and A LOT has been going on and I had a few cute pictures to post, too!

Our friends, Morgan and Shawn came to visit with their twins, David and Grace on Friday. The kids had such a blast together. We all hung out at the shop and the kids played with each other and on the trucks. Dennis took the boys for a ride in the tractor, Grace wasn't as thrilled about that, though. We all went on the first boat ride of the season and ate dinner at Whitehorn Cove on the lake. Then we threw them all in the tub for a bath after it was all over. I know Cooper slept really good! So glad we got to see them!! This picture is all three of them, they wanted to sit on the swing before we went out on the boat.

I took this one of Cooper at Mamaw & Papaw's cabin last week, he has so much fun exploring and playing outside with Papaw

Fishies! On Mother's Day, we had lunch with the rest of the Rains crew and in-laws at Western Hills Guest Ranch in Sequoyah State Park. To get there, you have a really nice scenic drive and there is a nature center in the park. I just had to go since it was open and Cooper thought it was pretty neat, too.

Happy Mother's Day

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!

I hope all you moms out there are having a wonderful day! You are wonderful blessings to not only your own, children, but also to me! Love you all!

Cooper made me this pretty little corsage at school out of tissue and egg carton (actually, I think Miss Karen made them, but it's from Cooper and isn't it cute?)

The last two days, we've got to see all the grandmas to celebrate Mother's Day with them, too!

My friend Traci, took these pictures of Cooper a couple weeks ago at their farm. I didn't post them until now, because I used them to make Mother's Day collages for all the grandmas and wanted them to be suprised. They were a big hit! Aren't they great pictures?!? Of course, this is my favorite subject matter, my little boy.

Sunday Drive

We returned my Dad's tractor on Sunday after church. They have a bunch of animals at their house, a huge petting zoo, really. They had a 1 day old baby llama we had to check out (didn't think to take the camera to the pasture for a pic). Cooper got a ride on Poppy's shoulders, which he loved and as you can see, the dog crate is a big hit for a play house!
