Happy Spring??

Today is the first day of spring and it's sleeting!!! We are expecting a winter storm today....gotta love Oklahoma weather!
March is flying by! I had a great birthday....my last official birthday for my twenties. Next year can be the first anniversary of my 29th! We are gearing up for spring time around here, doing some spring cleaning, and making a list of the million things we need to do around the house. Cooper and I started our tomato seeds in a little indoor greenhouse tray on Monday and they are already sprouting!! I love to watch things grow and we are ready to get out and work in the garden, if the rain will subside enough for us to till it up and get it ready to plant in a couple weeks. I am so ready to have flowers again, too. I really miss my flowers!! I haven't had flower beds for almost two years!! I have spots picked out in our back yard for them, just a matter of getting them done and filled with dirt. We also plan to get Cooper's swing set done some time before the summer starts. Not to mention all the other things we have on the honey-do list.
We got to visit with my little brother, Kody on Monday!!!! He had never met Cooper and I haven't seen him in over two years!!! He is 19 (20 in May) and in the Navy, getting ready to be stationed in Virginia and ship out somewhere from there. We are so proud of him, he is all grown up!! It was great to visit with him and hear what he's been up to and all the places he's already been and looking forward to going. I know Mom would be very proud as well!! We will be praying for his safety and sending him mail when we can!

Guitar Practice

Dennis is taking a guitar class on Wednesday night at church, so he has been actually using the guitars that have been under our bed for years. Cooper is fascinated and wants to play, too. They have been having lots of fun!

Happy Valentine's Day

It's been a crazy winter and we're ready for spring and less mud around here!! I normally really don't care for Valentine's Day, but this year, I've decided to look at it in a whole new way. I choose to look at it as a way to share God's love with others and a good excuse to do something nice for someone and let people know you care. In that spirit, I wish everyone a very Happy Valentine's Day!

Winter Storm #2

Wow! We don't normally get two winter storms in a season, but here we are, all white out again! We've been making the most of it. Dennis is busy on a truck in the shop, and Cooper and I have been hanging out in the house....he's been helping me clean and cook. For some reason, I go into baking mode when it's like this, it's been fun and I know the boys enjoy it. I made my fist homemade cinnamon rolls....can't wait to try one!

White Christmas and more

Well, we did end up with a REALLY white Christmas! In fact, we didn't go anywhere Christmas day after we got a couple inches of ice and then 6-8 inches of snow on top of that! This picture was actually just the beginning of it, the snow made it even whiter and the snow drifts we got because of the high winds were really high. We attempted to go to my Dad's today, but that didn't happen, after we got about 1/2 way there and decided to turn around since we encountered several wrecks and lots of idiots driving like there was nothing slick on the road. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get 30 miles. So, we are home again, just enjoying relaxing a little and I've started taking down Christmas decorations while I have some time on my hands and getting some reading done. I always thought it'd be nice to have a quiet Christmas at home, but this isn't exactly what I had in mind. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

White Christmas??

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve!! We began our celebrations last night by going to Darian's house in Pryor, the kids were all so excited! Cooper wasn't really sure what was up, but he was SUPER excited to see all the gifts and get to play with his cousins. We had lots of fun hanging out!
We had planned to go to Dennis's cousin, Kristine's house in Claremore after leaving Darian's today, but "the weather outside is frightful", so we headed on home and it's a good thing, too. A few of my family members were going to join us for Christmas Eve service, coming from 45 minutes away in good weather and opted not to do that, which was also a wise decision. We are staying home, not going to risk getting out in the slush tonight. This isn't exactly the type of white stuff we'd like to see at Christmas...prefer just snow without the ice!

Enjoy our Christmas Train pictures and Rains Christmas pictures...more to come!
