Home Cookin'

I've recently been on a kick of cooking things from scratch and using fresh, local food and I love to go to the Farmer's Market. I picked up some spaghetti squash, which I've never had before, and this is what I did with it. It was actually very tasty and I can see why it's used as "pasta" with sauce. I simply pierced it with a knife a few times and microwave steamed it, cut it in half, then took out the seeds and scraped the good stuff with a fork, added butter and parmesan cheese and voila!

This isn't cooking, but this is how Cooper "helps" in the garden

We don't have much of a garden left, just some cantaloupe and watermelon we planted late in the season and it's just now giving us fruit. We didn't do a fall garden since we plan to give a bit of an overhaul before next spring. Here's our first watermelon!
